The Reading List 12'15

Welcome December, Welcome Winter

There’s no month that has me so much into reading mood as December. I just want to cuddle up with a nice, hot cup of tea and read books that I’m really excited for. December’s no month for trying out new genres or something completely different from what I normally read, but a month that makes me crave homely-feelings and feel-good stories. I want books that I can read in bed while watching the snowfall outside, even though there is none yet (fingers crossed).

Sadly, due to my term dates, December’s also a month for exams, many hours spent at the library and dry texts that tell me not so dazzling stories of numbers and figures. It takes double the effort to get into Christmas mode during this time. Luckily I know myself pretty well and am able to look out for books that’ll make me forget the pressure for a few precious minutes (hopefully).

I'd therefore love to introduce you to my rather short December reading list:

Sunday Post Wrap-Up #2

1) Paper & Stitch 2) Chapter Friday 3) Sincerely Jules 4) Media Marmalade

Sometimes the good things in life take us off-guard and make it hard to recognize them for what they are. Change is inevitable and it always takes me a while to adapt. I like to be in control of what's happening to me and influence it in the best possible way, but sometimes all we need is to let go. At least as far as we can. I'll be spending July as an intern in Heidelberg but before that I've got quite a few points on my to-do list to be crossed out. With summer just around the corner and longer days and shorter nights I'd love to spend more time doing the things I enjoy and that includes this blog. If you're struggling as well, I collected some posts I genuinely liked and found helpful in the last couple weeks for you to devour in the last hours of this Sunday.

Book Review: Thoughts on Stephanie Perkins "Anna and the French Kiss"

“Is it possible for home to be a person and not a place?”
― Stephanie PerkinsAnna and the French Kiss
I may or may not have spent the last 24 hours with this book. And I may or may not have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Book Review: Thoughts on Lena Dunham's "Not That Kind of Girl"

I just finished reading Not that kind of a girl: a young woman tells you what she's learned and I'm not entirely sure what to think about it.

The first time I saw the cover of this book I instantly fell in love. I just really like this pink and black script on a white background, no wonder it's hyped on Instagram. I have to admit that I didn't know who Lena Dunham is before, shame on me. Apparently this Girls type did completely go unnoticed in my world. For anyone else being clueless who this Lena is, here's what Wikipedia says:

Outfit: The Red Coat

Welcome to my very first outfit-post on this blog. I'm very much into fashion and love how you can express yourself just through clothing, but I have to admit that I'm probably not using the full potential. I'm still too shy to wear something mind-blowing and I don't enjoy people looking at me, even if it's meant to be a compliment, so this really takes some courage. With this being said, I want to introduce you to my favourite coat. It's red, rather long, the boyfriend of one of my best friends said I look like a huntsman wearing it, and I absolutely love it.

How I Achieve a Balance Between Work and My Life & Why I Don't Think There Should be a Difference

First of all you need to know that I am a university student. I'm studying two languages and I love it. Not long ago I had three jobs. I'm writing for a local newspaper, work at my university and was a private teacher of English. Three jobs mean there's a hella lot to do, even if you've got very good planning skills. I can't completely count these activities to my work life because I just love to do them so much that especially learning for uni is more of a hobby for me. I always liked working. I like the thought of having my own earned money and the thought that there are actually people paying me for what I like to do never fails to amaze me. The moment of my first pay for an article at the newspaper probably was one of the best of my life so far. I mean I get to interview really cool, innovative and inspiring young people, write about it and then get money for it? How amazing is that? But this working attitude isn't always easy.

Blog Linkup - My Three Favourite Instagrammers

The girls of The B Bar had an awesome idea: a Blog Linkup running under the question "Who are your three favourite Instagrammers and why?" I love the thought that there is some kind of team work involved in this series, all of us bloggers working hand in hand. The special thing about this post therefore is that you'll find posts of different bloggers with the same theme at the bottom of this page. But first let me share mine.

The Spring Bucket List: What to Wear in 2015

Source 1 & 2

I'm absolutely craving warmer weather, colours, blue sky and light(er) clothes. Like always around the time of the fashion weeks I begin to think of what to wear in spring. I know I'll probably have to wait another few weeks but it helps to surround myself with the lighter clothes in my wardrobe. In a lack of inspiration (my winter wear got me uninspired) I scrolled through Pinterest and found such beautiful inspiration and instantly knew I need to share these pieces with you. So here it comes, my spring cravings in January.
